Allison Kern is the Portfolio Manager of RioBlanco Fund III LLC and a Partner at Morro Ventures, the venture capital arm of Advent-Morro Equity Partners, a leading private equity firm based in Puerto Rico.

Ms. Kern brings extensive experience in financial analysis, with a focus on conducting deep operational and financial due diligence across credit and equity investments in the United States, Puerto Rico, and emerging markets. Based in Puerto Rico, she specializes in efficient cross-border tax structuring.

Ms. Kern relocated to Puerto Rico in early 2017 to co-found Morro Ventures, the first technology-focused venture capital firm on the island. Prior to Morro Ventures, she was a venture investor at StarVest Partners, a $250 million expansion-stage venture capital fund based in New York, where she evaluated investment opportunities and supported portfolio company growth. Before that, she served as an investment analyst at an emerging markets-focused hedge fund within The Carlyle Group.

She began her career in investment banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland in London, where she worked across multiple industry groups and contributed to advisory assignments, including those related to the firm’s internal private equity investments.

Ms. Kern graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
